Operation Wounded Minds launches Start the Conversation, a national community campaign that takes place President’s Day weekend and the 4th anniversary of OWM, to raise awareness of PTS (also known as PTSD) that utilize the documentary film ACRONYM: The Cross-Generational Battle With PTSD as a tool for discussion at screenings in the 435 congressional districts around the country with community screenings, awards honoring those in the community who deserve recognition. Kicking off for in time for Veterans Day, our PTS and Mental Health First Aid Training Program focuses on mental health and mindfulness practices, offering practical ways we can identify and assist those suffering from the impacts of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress to empower the participant with a better understanding while providing a toolkit to offer mental health first aid at the time it is needed.
